Why PHS Magnum for heavy truck service?
PHS Magnum operates its own fleet of 26 DAF XF 480 Euro 6 tractors. This means our mechanics work on the same tractor type every day — not just on customer vehicles. When a DAF XF comes in with a recurring EBS fault or suspension issue, our technicians have seen the same pattern dozens of times on our own fleet.
This fleet-based knowledge is not a marketing claim — it is a structural advantage. Diagnosis is faster, repeat visits are rarer, and parts for common DAF models are held in stock.
DAF XF 480 — what we do on our own fleet daily
- EBS brake system maintenance (Wabco) — sensor replacement, brake caliper overhaul, pad and disc replacement
- Air suspension — air bag replacement, height correction, levelling valve calibration
- Hydraulic systems — tipper gear, tipping cylinder regeneration

14 Service Bays — What That Means in Practice
Fourteen service bays allow simultaneous work on multiple vehicles. For hauliers with a small fleet (5–10 tractors), this matters: you can bring in 2–3 vehicles at once for annual maintenance, scheduled brakes and safety checks, and collect them within 1–2 days. No queuing, no returning next week.
The hall has a 10-tonne workshop crane — enabling work on tipping gear, tank removal or heavy trailer components without additional equipment.
What foreign operators should know
- Extended parking: vehicles can stay on the secured yard for several days while awaiting parts or between repair stages.
- EU VAT invoicing: invoices issued with Polish VAT number (PL prefix) — deductible under EU reverse charge for EU-registered businesses.
- 4 km from A4: for drivers coming from Germany or the Czech Republic, Chorula is a natural stop on the main logistics route — no significant detour.
- Language: technical communication in Polish; dispatchers/owners can communicate in German.
EBS Diagnostics — A Key Specialisation
EBS (Electronic Braking System) faults on heavy trucks are among the most safety-critical failures and, unfortunately, among the most frequent diagnostic visits. PHS Magnum uses Wabco Diagnostic Controller and Haldex Diag+ equipment for full EBS diagnostics:
- Reading and clearing fault codes
- ABS sensor replacement (wheel speed sensors)
- Brake caliper calibration after replacement
- EBS module programming after replacement
- Trailer ABS/EBS coupling diagnostics
Applies to: Wabco TEBS, Haldex Gen 4/5, Knorr-Bremse iEBS — on both tractors and trailers.
