TDT Inspections for Silo and Cement Trailers
PHS Magnum provides complete TDT inspection preparation for silo and cement trailers conducted by TDT inspectors. We hold authorisation for repair and modernisation of pressure vessels on road vehicles, issued under Polish technical supervision law.
The Polish TDT certificate is recognised throughout the EU under ADR Chapter 6.8 and the Transportable Pressure Equipment Directive (TPED 2010/35/EU). Trailers registered in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands or any other EU state can be inspected and certified here — the certificate applies EU-wide.
What TDT Inspection Covers
The TDT inspector checks the following elements. PHS Magnum prepares each of them before the inspection date:
Pressure Vessel and Tank
- Hydrostatic pressure test — 1.25 × MOP for a minimum of 10 minutes
- Visual inspection of welds, tank shell and dome
- Leak test of air chambers and fluidisation systems
Safety Equipment
- Replacement or calibration of safety valves (set pressure as per vessel documentation)
- Inspection and replacement of fill and discharge valves
- Inspection of pressure gauges and thermometers
Sealing
- Replacement of hatch seals (top dome, inspection hatch)
- Replacement of discharge nozzle seals and gaskets
- Inspection of all flange connections
Pneumatic System
- Inspection and repair of aeration pads / fluidisation pads
- Inspection of air distribution pipes, flexible hoses and connections
- Compressor inspection on request
Documentation
- Vessel passport update
- Repair protocol (weld records, material certificates)
- TDT inspection report for operator files
- Translation into German or English on request
Inspection Frequency
| Tank type | Basic inspection | Detailed (internal) inspection |
|---|---|---|
| Dry bulk tank (granules, cement powder) | Every 2 years | Every 6 years |
| ADR pressure vessel (Class 6.2 / 3) | Every 2–3 years | Every 5–6 years |
Plan at least 4 weeks before expiry. If defects are found, repairs take 1–10 working days depending on scope. Scheduling early avoids forced downtime.
