In Brief
TDT (Transportowy Dozór Techniczny, Polish Transport Technical Inspectorate) is the mandatory certification for pressurised equipment on road vehicles in Poland, equivalent to Germany’s TÜV Druckbehälter certification. Silo trailers require external inspection every 2 years and a full internal inspection with pressure test every 6 years. A vehicle with an expired TDT certificate may not legally transport pressurised cargo and can be stopped by road inspectors (ITD).
The TDT certificate is not a formality. A vehicle with an expired certificate is legally barred from operating as a pressurised vessel — regardless of actual mechanical condition. An ITD inspector can stop it on the road and the consequences for the operator range from fines to towing costs and lost contracts.
PHS Magnum holds TDT (Transportowy Dozór Techniczny) authorisation for repairs and modifications to pressurised devices on road vehicles. We handle the full cycle: technical inspection, parts replacement, documentation, and inspector coordination on our workshop floor.
Inspection intervals for silo trailers
| Inspection type | Frequency | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Periodic external inspection | Every 2 years | External condition, pressure system, documentation |
| Detailed inspection | Every 6 years | Internal tank, weld testing, wall thickness |
| Interim inspection | After any repair to the tank | Required before return to pressurised service |
Intervals run from the date of the last inspection, not from January 1st. The owner is responsible for submitting the application to TDT on time.
Our four-stage preparation process
Stage 1 — Technical assessment The vehicle arrives on our workshop floor. We inspect all pressurised components: aeration pads, safety valves, fittings, hoses, hatch seals. A written quote is issued within 24 hours.
Stage 2 — Documentation verification Missing or incomplete documentation is the most common reason TDT inspections fail. Required: Equipment Book (Książka urządzenia), previous inspection records, repair protocols, material certificates for any replaced components. We help reconstruct missing documentation where possible.
Stage 3 — Service and repairs Replacement of all components identified in Stage 1: safety valves, aeration pads, hatch seals, pressure hoses. Welding of any cracks, with TDT-compliant documentation.
Stage 4 — TDT inspection with TDT inspector We arrange the inspector’s visit to our floor and are present throughout. After a positive result, the vehicle receives its TDT certificate and can return to pressurised service.
