Introduction — Ebro valve gear in a multi-brand fleet
PHS Magnum has serviced and supplied parts for silo trailers of various makes since 1990 — in one workshop, Spitzer, Feldbinder and Kässbohrer trailers arrive side by side, along with vehicles from other European manufacturers. The common denominator of these designs is the bulk material discharge line, and within it the shut-off valve gear. Ebro butterfly valves are among the most common shut-off components in this line: a single movement of the disc rotating in the body opens or closes the pipe cross-section.
From the perspective of a multi-brand hub, the advantage of Ebro valves is that they are selected by the connection diameter and the pipework design, not by the logo on the trailer. As a result, the same warehouse covers the needs of a fleet composed of trailers from many manufacturers. Ebro is the manufacturer of the valve gear itself; we carry it as a catalogue item together with replacement seals, matching the version to the nature of the carried cargo.
The second feature worth highlighting is the clear division into two material versions, recognisable by the colour of the seal. This distinction translates directly into the trailer’s configuration: a vehicle intended for food products must have the entire product line in a hygienic version, including the butterfly valve. During inspections and refurbishments in Chorula this is a frequent verification point — we check that the valve version fitted matches the trailer’s declared purpose.

Standard versions available off the shelf cover sizes DN80, DN100, DN150 and DN200. The valves come in many body designs — and it is the body design, not the diameter alone, that decides the fit to the pipework, because the same DN can have different flange and connection versions.
Perbunan seals as a spare part
We offer Perbunan seals (white and black) separately, for every size of Ebro butterfly valve:

Replacing the seal alone in the right size usually restores disc tightness without dismantling the whole valve from the pipework — the cheapest and fastest repair of a typical leak.
Compatibility with silo trailer makes
An Ebro butterfly valve is selected by diameter (DN80–DN200) and body design in the given pipework, not by the trailer type or make. In the practice of the PHS Magnum workshop this means the same valve gear serves the entire multi-brand fleet:
- Spitzer (SF/SK) — on aluminium silo trailers of the SF (non-tipping) and SK (tipping) series, butterfly valves work in the product line at chamber outlets and in the bends of the discharge pipework.
- Feldbinder (EUT/KIP) — on the horizontal, non-tipping EUT line and the KIP tipping silo, the butterfly valve plays the same shut-off role; the version selection logic (black/white) depends on the medium carried.
- Kässbohrer (K.SSK/K.SSL) — on Kässbohrer silo trailers the selection runs identically: the medium determines the seal version, and the diameter and body design determine the specific unit.
- Other European manufacturers — we also use Ebro valves on silo trailers of other makes; selection always starts from measuring the connection and the nature of the cargo.
If the customer is unsure of the type, the surest route is comparison with a valve removed from the trailer, or measuring the connection during an inspection at our service centre — regardless of the vehicle make.
Warehouse in Chorula
We keep Ebro butterfly valves in standard sizes (DN80, DN100, DN150, DN200, black and white versions) and Perbunan seals in stock in Chorula near Opole, 4 km from the A4 motorway junction, about 180 km from the German border. Less typical body designs are fulfilled via direct delivery.
