GBS hose clamps and shell couplings for silo trailers of multiple brands — PHS Magnum warehouse in Chorula

One fastening system for the whole fleet — regardless of brand

PHS Magnum has been servicing multi-brand silo trailer fleets since 1990 — and it is precisely this perspective that shapes our approach to hose clamps. A haulier rarely runs a single brand: alongside Spitzer trailers there are Feldbinder, Kässbohrer and vehicles from other European manufacturers. What they share is a common denominator — a pneumatic line with a transfer and compressor hose, Storz suction fittings and a small yet critical component fastening the hose onto the stub.

A hose clamp is a universal part. It is matched not to the logo on the tank but to the hose diameter and the fitting type — which is why the same GBS clamp or shell coupling fits a silo trailer of any brand, as long as the DN and the shape of the Storz end match. For a mixed-fleet manager this is a huge simplification: one shared clamp inventory covers all trailers, with no sorting by brand.

A poorly matched or corroded clamp is the most common cause of blow-by and dusting during discharge — no matter whose logo the trailer carries. That is why we run three basic groups of fastening components: GBS clamps, shell couplings, and worm-drive and double-bolted clamps.

The three groups cover the entire line: quick GBS clamps for the fitting stub, more secure shell couplings for smooth fittings, and worm-drive and double-bolted clamps for auxiliary lines (air, water, lines around the chassis and compressor).

Compatibility with silo trailer brands

Fastening is matched to the hose diameter and the Storz fitting type, which is why the clamp range covers silo trailers of all the brands we service:

BrandSeriesAssembly notes
SpitzerSF (non-tipping), SK (tipping)DN75 hose → 75x10 shell couplings; GBS clamps for Storz stubs
FeldbinderEUT (horizontal), KIP (Kippsilo, tipping)for KIP pressure discharge, DIN 2817 shell couplings are recommended
KässbohrerK.SSK, K.SSLmatched by hose DN and fitting shape
Other European manufacturerssize and finish matched to the specific hose and fitting

The fleet-wide standard is the DN75 hose, for which we keep shell couplings in size 75x10 and GBS clamps matching the outside diameter of the hose with its fitting permanently available. The GBS clamp size (17–130 mm range) is matched to the outside diameter of the hose pushed onto the Storz suction fitting stub. Below is a summary of typical hose diameters and the corresponding Storz fitting sizes assembled with GBS clamps:

Storz fitting sizeHose diameterGasket
C (52)50 mmblack NBR
B (75)75 mmblack NBR
A (110)100 mmblack NBR
A (110)110 mmblack NBR

The material finish is chosen by working environment, not trailer brand: for typical PE/PP granulate and bulk materials, galvanised W1 is sufficient, while for stainless-steel applications (e.g. food-grade transport, moist media, intensive washing) we select stainless and acid-resistant W2/W4 clamps and stainless couplings.

Warehouse in Chorula

We run the clamp range from the PHS Magnum warehouse in Chorula near Opole, 4 km from the A4 motorway. The stocking principle is practical, not catalogue-driven: we keep in stock what genuinely moves in a mixed fleet — GBS clamps in the standard finish (W1) and 75x10 shell couplings for the DN75 hose — because these decide repair time when a trailer is standing with a leaking connection.

Stainless and acid-resistant finishes (W2, W4), stainless 75x8 couplings, other sizes, and worm-drive and double-bolted clamps are supplied by direct delivery — next day. This way one shared warehouse serves the whole fleet, however many brands it counts. Courier shipping within Poland and to EU countries; collection in person is also possible.

We do not quote made-up service-life figures — clamp durability depends on the medium, assembly frequency and working conditions, not the trailer brand.

What to watch for across brands

Although fastening is matched to the hose and fitting rather than the logo, a few design differences between manufacturers are worth keeping in mind with a mixed fleet:

  • Spitzer SF/SK — the DN75 hose is standard, so 75x10 couplings and GBS clamps for Storz stubs move the fastest here.
  • Feldbinder EUT/KIP — for pressure discharge on the tipping KIP, DIN 2817 shell couplings tend to be more secure, and food-grade EUT versions require stainless W2/W4 finishes.
  • Kässbohrer K.SSK/K.SSL — selection follows directly from the hose DN and fitting shape, with no material specifics beyond the working environment.
  • Material by medium, not brand — galvanised W1 is sufficient for PE/PP granulate; for moist media and washing, W2/W4 is used regardless of the trailer manufacturer.

We run the central warehouse in Chorula precisely for this spread: one shared clamp inventory serves all brands, so fastenings for different trailers can be assembled into a single order, without sorting by manufacturer.

Dedicated brand portals

PHS Magnum runs dedicated portals for the most widely serviced silo trailer brands. There you will find the hose clamp catalogue framed from the perspective of a specific series, with assembly notes for the given tank model:

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Hose clamps are a universal component matched not to the logo on the trailer but to the hose diameter and the type of Storz suction coupling. We use the same GBS clamps and shell couplings on Spitzer (SF/SK), Feldbinder (EUT/KIP) and Kässbohrer (K.SSK/K.SSL) silo trailers, as well as those of other European manufacturers. What matters is the hose DN and the shape of the Storz fitting — we match the size and finish to those.

The full range of the most popular GBS-type clamps for assembling industrial and compressor hoses. Standard finish: fully galvanised steel (W1), hexagon bolt class 8.8, band width 18 mm, DIN 3017 standard, sizes from 17 mm. The full GBS range in stainless and acid-resistant steel (W2, W4) is available by direct delivery.

A set for one side of the hose (one fitting) consists of: 2 shells, 4 assembly bolts and 4 nuts. Material: German aluminium, standards DIN 2817 and DIN 2826. The flagship size for a DN75 hose is 75x10 — we keep it in permanent stock. All other sizes and shapes of couplings in aluminium and stainless steel (size 75x8) for any hose are available on a next-day basis.

For a DN75 hose — the most common standard on silo trailers regardless of brand — the flagship shell coupling size is 75x10, available off the shelf. Other sizes and shapes of couplings in aluminium and stainless steel (e.g. 75x8) are supplied by direct delivery. GBS clamps are sized to match the outside diameter of the hose fitted with its coupling.

W1 is fully galvanised steel — the standard finish. W2 and W4 are stainless and acid-resistant steel finishes with higher resistance to corrosion and aggressive environments. The grade is chosen by working conditions and the material carried — W1 is sufficient for typical PE/PP granulate, while for moist media and frequent washing we recommend W2/W4.

Yes. Double-bolted clamps and worm-drive clamps in a full range of sizes, for assembling any industrial or automotive line — air lines, water lines, auxiliary lines around the chassis and compressor on silo trailers of any brand.
