Glycerine Pressure Gauges

Glycerine-filled pressure gauges for silo trailers – stainless steel, 63 and 100 mm dials, bottom and back mount. Chorula warehouse.

Glycerine-filled pressure gauges in stainless steel cases for silo trailers of various brands — PHS Magnum warehouse, Chorula

Introduction

A glycerine-filled pressure gauge is the instrument the driver and service technician look at during every silo trailer discharge — it shows the pressure in the pneumatic system that uses compressed air to convey PE/PP granulate and other bulk materials. Safety depends on an accurate reading: too much pressure strains the tank and its valve gear, too little drags out the discharge. Across the entire network of brands we service, the gauge plays the same role and shares a similar design — the main differences are the connection and how it is mounted.

That’s why we treat pressure gauges as a universal item for a mixed fleet rather than one tied to a single manufacturer. A stainless steel case and glycerine filling are the standard that works regardless of trailer brand, and connection differences are handled with thread reducers and adapters. This approach lets workshops and fleets running trailers from several manufacturers stock up in one place, and provides calibrated gauges wherever an inspection procedure requires them.

Specification

Glycerine-filled pressure gauges in stainless steel cases, in two diameters and two mounting types.

ParameterValue
Typeglycerine-filled pressure gauge
Casestainless steel
Fillingglycerine
Diameters63 mm, 100 mm
Mountingbottom, back
Pressure range (bar)63 mm: 0-4, 0-6, 0-10, 0-25, 0-250; 100 mm: 0-4, 0-6, 0-10
Additional optionscalibrated gauges, thread reducers and adapters

Pressure ranges by diameter:

Diameter (mm)Range (bar)
630-4, 0-6, 0-10, 0-25, 0-250
1000-4, 0-6, 0-10

The glycerine filling damps vibration and pressure pulsation, while the stainless steel case resists corrosion and mechanical damage in a dusty environment. The specific pressure range is matched to the working pressure of the trailer’s system; we also supply any other gauge range as well as calibrated instruments.

Brand compatibility

A pressure gauge is a universal instrument, selected by parameters rather than brand — so one offering covers many manufacturers:

  • Spitzer (SF/SK) — pressure monitoring in the pneumatic system of SF and SK series aluminium trailers.
  • Feldbinder (EUT/KIP) — gauge for the pneumatic discharge of the horizontal EUT tank and the pressure-assisted tipping of the KIP silo.
  • Kässbohrer (K.SSK/K.SSL) — pressure monitoring in the discharge system’s pneumatic line.
  • Other brands — wherever discharge takes place under pressure, a 63/100 mm glycerine-filled gauge fits once the mounting and connection are matched.

Selection comes down to matching the case diameter, mounting type (bottom or back) and pressure range to the connection configuration on the trailer. Where the instrument’s thread doesn’t match the connection thread, we use reducers and adapters from our range — keeping the original measuring point without modifying the installation. For systems requiring documented accuracy we supply calibrated gauges.

Chorula warehouse

We stock glycerine-filled pressure gauges at our warehouse in Chorula near Opole (4 km from the A4 motorway, approx. 180 km from the German border). The popular 63 and 100 mm diameters are usually available off the shelf, while less common ranges, calibrated gauges and thread reducers and adapters come via direct supply. We ship by courier across Poland, the European Union and the DACH market, and handle grouped orders together with thermometers and sight glasses. Selecting gauges for mixed-brand fleets

In a fleet made up of different designs, the pressure gauge turns out to be one of the few components that can genuinely be standardised. Although the pneumatic lines of Spitzer SF/SK, Feldbinder EUT/KIP and Kässbohrer K.SSK/K.SSL differ in valve-gear layout and where the instrument sits, the selection logic remains the same: what counts is dial diameter, mounting type and a range matched to the discharge pressure — not who built the tank.

In Spitzer SF and SK aluminium trailers the measuring point is usually squeezed into a tight valve-gear panel, where a 63 mm dial works well. Feldbinder designs — both the horizontal EUT tank and the tipping KIP silo — more often leave room for the more legible 100 mm dial read from a greater distance. On Kässbohrer K.SSK and K.SSL silo trailers the gauge performs the same pneumatic-line monitoring role, with differences coming down to the connection thread, which we bridge with a reducer or adapter. As a result, a single catalogue item covers all these brands, and the technician doesn’t have to keep separate stock for each manufacturer.

This is where the central warehouse in Chorula and the network’s logistics come in: we hold both popular diameters and the full range of reducers and adapters in one place, so instruments for different brands are picked from a single stock. For a mixed fleet this shortens repair time and simplifies procurement — instead of waiting for a brand-specific delivery, we match a gauge by parameters from current stock.

What to watch for across brands

  • Diameter vs installation space — in tight Spitzer panels consider 63 mm; in the roomier Feldbinder and Kässbohrer installations the more legible 100 mm.
  • Mounting — bottom or back is matched to how the gauge sits in the system, not to the brand.
  • Connection thread — differences between brands are bridged with a reducer or adapter, without modifying the line.
  • Calibration — wherever the inspection procedure requires documented accuracy, we use a calibrated gauge regardless of manufacturer.

Frequently Asked Questions

A pressure gauge is selected by case diameter, mounting type, pressure range and thread connection — not by trailer brand. This lets us cover the pneumatic systems of Spitzer, Feldbinder, Kässbohrer and other manufacturers' silo trailers with a single line item. If the thread doesn't match, we use a reducer or adapter.

We offer glycerine-filled gauges in 63 mm and 100 mm diameters, with bottom or back mounting. The smaller diameter suits tight valve-gear installations, the larger one gives better readability, and the mounting type is matched to how the gauge is fitted in the trailer's system.

The 63 mm diameter is available in 0-4, 0-6, 0-10, 0-25 and 0-250 bar ranges, and the 100 mm diameter in 0-4, 0-6 and 0-10 bar. We offer every gauge range — matched to the working pressure of the trailer's system so the needle operates in the middle section of the scale.

Yes. Alongside standard gauges we supply calibrated pressure gauges as well as all thread reducers and adapters, which let you fit the instrument to the existing connection on the trailer without modifying the installation.

Glycerine damps needle flutter caused by chassis vibration and compressor air pulsation. The reading stays steady and legible, and the mechanism works under gentler conditions. Combined with a stainless steel case, this makes an instrument well suited to the harsh conditions of bulk material transport.
