Kassbohrer K.SSK vs K.SSL — Key Differences for Parts Selection
Kassbohrer produces two main silo trailer families:
- K.SSK — tipping (tipper) silo trailer. Commonly used for cement and dry granulates. The tipping cylinder and pivot frame introduce additional wear points not present on non-tipping variants.
- K.SSL — non-tipping silo trailer. Pneumatic discharge only. Simpler pneumatic circuit but with specific aeration pad configurations that differ from K.SSK.
When ordering parts, specify which series your vehicle belongs to. Aeration pad dimensions and flange geometry are not interchangeable between models, and Kassbohrer has used several non-standard DIN deviations over the years.
Why Non-Standard Dimensions Matter
Kassbohrer trailers manufactured in the 1990s and early 2000s use several connection and flange sizes that do not match DIN 2616 or ISO 1132 standards. Substituting a standard-dimension part into a non-standard port creates a leak point that is difficult to trace. Always provide:
- The vehicle serial number (found on the TDT plate or tank data plate)
- A photo of the part to be replaced, including any visible stamped dimensions

TDT Inspection Support for Kassbohrer Trailers
Kassbohrer silo and cement trailers are subject to TDT (Technical Supervision Office) periodic inspections in Poland — and equivalent national authority inspections throughout the EU under ADR Annex 6.8 and TPED 2010/35/EU. The most commonly replaced parts during TDT preparation are:
- Safety valves (pressure setting must be documented)
- Hatch seals (visual integrity check by inspector)
- Aeration pads (checked for delamination or porosity)
