Key takeaways
Technical supervision of concrete pumps — required for all pumps with pressure vessels (Putzmeister, Cifa, Schwing, truck mixer pumps). PHS Magnum provides service and preparation for TDT inspections with TDT-M/N-19/22 authorisations valid until 14.04.2030.
| TDT element | Typically |
|---|---|
| Periodic inspection | Every 2-4 years |
| Ad-hoc inspection | After a major repair |
| TDT decision | Valid until the next inspection |
| Inspection book | Updated after every operation |
| Inspection preparation | 1-2 working days |
| Inspector attendance | 0.5-1 day |

What is subject to technical supervision on concrete pumps
A concrete pump as a machine consists of several systems — TDT covers specific components, not the whole machine:
Material hopper
- The hopper receiving concrete from the mixer
- Agitators inside the hopper (if fitted)
- The access safety grate
The pumping system (high pressure)
- Pumping cylinders (the main component)
- Pump pistons
- Pump valves (ball or S-valve)
- The hydraulic drive system (>250 bar as standard)
Pipelines and fittings
- High-pressure pipelines from the pump to the delivery end
- Overpressure safety valves
- Couplings, elbows, pressure bends
The boom (masts of truck-mounted pumps)
- The steel boom structure
- The hydraulic motion connections
- The control mechanisms (proportional, manual)
Truck mixer pump — additionally
- Mixing drum — steel structure
- Drum drive (hydraulic or mechanical)
- Feed chute (if fitted)
Brands we handle
PHS Magnum provides service and TDT supervision for pumps by:
Putzmeister (German premium)
- BSF (Boom Pump) — truck-mounted pumps with a boom
- BSC (Concrete Pump Stationary) — stationary pumps
- Stationary Pumps (P.P. 715, P.P. 715 D-S)
- Mixers (Putzmeister mixers)
Cifa (Italian premium)
- K-Series — truck-mounted pumps with a boom
- Magnum Series — large pumps with 36-58 m booms
- Cifa MK truck mixer pumps
Schwing (German premium)
- KVM — truck-mounted pumps
- S-Lift — stationary pumps
- Schwing Stetter truck mixer pumps
Others and truck mixer pumps
- Truck mixer pumps: Sany, Zoomlion, Kobayashi, Polish KIT
- Small stationary pumps (Putzmeister BSA, IMER, Carmix)
The TDT inspection preparation procedure
Step 1: TDT date and notice (3 months ahead)
PHS Magnum reminds clients of the upcoming inspection 3 months in advance. The client books a workshop slot.
Step 2: Pre-inspection check (1-2 days)
At the Chorula workshop:
- Diagnosis of all pressure components
- Hydraulic pressure test (usually 1.5× MOP)
- Inspection of the vessel welds (PT or UT)
- Safety valve check (actuation test)
- Review of the historical documentation (inspection book)
- Verification of compliance with the supervisory decision
Step 3: Any repairs (recommended by the inspector)
If the check reveals necessary repairs (seals, minor cracks, a safety valve) — PHS Magnum carries them out before the inspector attends.
Step 4: Notifying the TDT inspector (2-3 weeks)
We report the pump ready to TDT. The queue for an inspector is typically 2-3 weeks depending on the region.
Step 5: Inspector attendance (0.5-1 day)
At the Chorula workshop:
- The TDT inspector carries out the inspection
- Repeated pressure tests (with documentation)
- Non-destructive weld testing (if required)
- Issue of the TDT decision
Step 6: Documentation and handover
- Entry in the inspection book
- The supervisory decision handed to the client
- Stamp/seals on the vessel
- The pump ready for further operation
Pump repairs that require TDT authorisations
The following repairs REQUIRE TDT-M/N authorisations:
- Welding of the material hopper
- Welding of high-pressure pipelines
- Replacement of safety valves
- Modernisation of the hydraulic system (pressure change)
- Replacement of pipeline sections
- Boom repair (welding of the load-bearing structure)
PHS Magnum holds decision TDT-M/N-19/22 (amended T.5900.63.2026.T22.1, valid until 14.04.2030) — authorisations for all the operations above.
Without this decision, a workshop may only carry out:
- Minor repairs not touching the pressure components
- Replacement of consumable parts (filters, oils)
- Electrical and lighting repairs
That is a fundamental difference — before choosing a workshop, check whether it holds TDT-M/N authorisations for pumps.
Consequences of no valid TDT decision
On site
- Operation halted by a labour or road inspectorate check
- Fines for the pump operator
- Removal from the site by the general contractor
After an accident
- Criminal liability of the operator (Art. 220 of the Polish Criminal Code)
- Refusal of insurance payout for damages
- Civil claims from injured parties
Reputational
- Blacklists of general contractors
- Exclusion from large infrastructure projects
- Loss of government contracts
Standing agreements for pump operators
Pump operators with 3+ pumps in their fleet get:
- An inspection schedule planned 6-12 months ahead
- A dedicated technical account manager
- A fixed contract rate for inspection preparation
- Workshop priority — a slot reserved in advance
- Technical consultations by phone
